Despite the vast array of small businesses there are out there, there are a handful of problems that are

common to most small business owners.

Ranking in the top 5 is marketing and advertising.

It’s no secret that people need to know about your brand and what you’re offering in order for you to sell, but getting the word out far and wide is challenging without the proper marketing strategy in place.

Before you jump into running ads or posting on social media, however, you need to take some time to think about who your ideal customer is, or “customer avatar”.

For example:

- What is their age range?

- What is their gender?

- Where do they live?

- What is their income range?

- What are their interests?

And so on and so forth.

Once you have that nailed down, you can start to create content based on what your customer avatar would be interested in. And never underestimate the value of the content you post. Just because that information can be googled, doesn’t mean that people aren’t taking it on your pages.

Regularly posting quality content leads to:

- Better relationships & trust with your audience

- Having more eyeballs on your page

- Lower advertising costs

As far as running ads on this platform, the best advice I can give you is to reach out to a professional to help.

If you’ve ever tried to run ads on your own before, you probably didn’t know what you were doing, and you probably felt they weren’t worth the money.

Don’t worry, I was there once, too!

It takes old-fashioned experience to know what works, and staying up to date on what works and algorithms, etc., is an ongoing process.

And it’s not that you’re not capable of learning the skill, but most business owners simply do not have the time. It’s usually best if you focus on your zone of genius and outsource the rest.

So long story short, don’t overlook the marketing because it is so important to keep leads and sales coming in. You never know when things can take a turn, and you want your brand to be top of mind for your audience.
